[Chapter Twelve: Website Basics]
Fist of the Empire utilizes Dotnetnuke for the guilds website. Dotnetnuke and its community of developers provide quality plug-in and modules for the enterprise environment. This works well for the FoE ONNET community, facilitating communication and collaboration around the world.
The site is has several main pages that provide services to the members of FoE. No matter what the site looks like it will always have these basic areas.
- Home Page: Designed to be the main page for all users to the site. The page has links to factual information about the guild for visitors.
- Recruitment: This is an informative page designed to help gamers sign up and join FoE.
- Forums: Forums page contains the FoE forums. The forum is designed primarily for members and all public discussion should go to GuildNetwork.net.
- Chat: The Chat page is for members and PRs only and links them into the FoE UGC from the web.
- Members: The Members page provides services for all members to check on newest post from around FoE’s websites, links to informative reviews and pictures on various betas, and other member related information.
- Leaders: The Leader page contains tools for the staff to manage the guild.
- Mail: Site mail that forward messages on to the users email, this is only for PRs and members.
- Knowledge Base: Contains information about FoE and makes up what is called the “Guild Handbook”.
- Support: The help page is designed to provide informative links, contact information and ticket for members who require help. There is also a Help database that people can look at resolved topics. If available users can also enter a chat with leaders in order to get answers quickly.
