With the new year comes new plans and hopes for the future of our guild. For example, we plan to make our enemies suffer, but we hope they will cry real tears and beg for mercy. We plan to beta test as many new games as possible, so we hope one or two pan out to be what they promise in order to keep things fresh and interesting for everyone. We also plan to offer an even more unique guild experience for our members, and we hope you will all enjoy it!
Every FoE officer continually works on new ways to enhance the guild for us, and this year is no different. We have several tentative ideas for various aspects of the guild as a whole and for the individual. If you happen to have some suggestions for what you would like to see happen with the guild please contact an officer with the details.

FoE, LLC Needs Your Help by Snit
FoE does creative things. Sometimes well, sometimes not so much (just take a look at anything that Snit has ever contributed).
We'd like to do more podcasts, Guild Network pieces, in-guild and in-game community contests, video productions, newsletter features, larpy written productions, and lots of other things that we haven't even thought of yet.
We call ourselves "FoE Labs" - and it's just what it sounds like - a laboratory full of people experimenting with whatever it is that sounds fun and interesting.
Have an idea that might suit the laboratory? Don't have an idea that you've established just yet but think it would be fun to get involved? Contact either Kia (kmoore@guildnetwork.net) or Snit (dkirchhoff@guildnetwork.net).
We'd love to have you help us to entertain and subjugate the masses.

Fallen Earth – Gonazz
December was a month of new content and challenges for FoE in Fallen Earth, the post-apocalyptic MMORPG considered by many critics to be one of the best MMO’s of 2009. With the release of the “Social Patch” the game has introduced the new construction skill, the first series of player built structures, and tavern bunkers complete with gambling. Also, holiday themed content offered some fun and useful items that really brought the season to life in the wasteland. At the same time FoE has faced some of its greatest challenges in FE with new game mechanics, the community’s first PvP tourney and continued PvP conflicts on the server.
The 7th MSC also released two new FE podcasts through FoE’s Guildnetwork.net. Thanks again to Medory and Slacker Dan for their continued efforts bringing “Apocalypso” to the FE community.
Apocalypso Podcast Episode two (Fallen Earth)
Apocalypso Podcast Episode three (Fallen Earth)
In addition, in an effort aimed at supporting the FE community, Fist of the Empire has posted its own original fan fiction about our clan in Fallen Earth. The first of a four part story deals with the harsh realities of surviving and thriving in the wasteland, our back story and our vision of FoE in FE.
So if you’re interested in fighting in FoE’s forged edge in FE, 1st Platoon (s3) and 2nd Platoon (s2) is fighting hard in the wasteland, or if you have to be that master crafter then support them by volunteering for Fistwerks – don’t be shy and sound off! Come get some in the 'Pocalypse.
The 7th MSC MVP for December is Cuddle Monster. During December’s community organized PvP tourney, Cuddle made it to the last round facing fierce competition. Although he was defeated by the server’s best pistoleer, his fighting spirit and vicious melee build was an inspiration and source of pride for FoE in FE. Congratulations Cuddle Monster you done us proud!

Aion – Focus on 2010 by Momodawgy
Well 2009 is over and FoE’s eye has moved to the future and from what this action-packed game has to offer, this should be a great year. Folks have settled down to a) finish their grinds to 50 and b) those that have reached this lofty plateau are working on end-game content. For the most part these two things do not walk hand in hand.
NCSoft has announced some content headed our way for the near future that will make end-game a lot more exciting – a few new zones, updated respecs, a new ground abyss area and added questlines, and for the long term eye to the future enhanced graphics, and player cities with static vulnerable hot times.
We are also excited to welcome the merger with the members of “Rickrolled” that joined us in FoE; these players have been an exciting addition to our team and have helped us to move up in the ranking into the top 20 Asmodians Guilds on the Zikel Server.
Aion MVP this month is Cephus – this kool-aid mustache member is at the top of the donations chart and this nub (this is his first MMO-heehee) is ever-ready to jump into whatever blackhole his guildies need help with. Cephus we salute you and congratulate you on being January’s MVP.

Congratulations to Our Newest Members!

Praelian's Special Needs After School Program
Calling all window lickers to hop on the short bus for some structured after school activities! Prae has been running this program for over seven years now with great success. Participants can look forward to expanding their vocabulary and social skills by learning such phrases as “This is what we call a textbook clusterfuck” and “I want you douches to go form up by those fuckers” and “Do I need to put a dick in your mouth to make you shut up?” They will also be taught much needed survival skills like urinating in bottles to avoid pesky bathroom breaks and how to prepare food in under a minute to maximize available gaming time. All this and more can be yours for a small monthly fee! Please contact Prae via email praeenslavesusall@youarefucked.biz

Creative Endeavors by Kia
We are very fortunate to have a number of talented and creative members that work tirelessly to bring us a fuller guild experience that is unlike most. With that in mind, we are asking that everyone try to participate in the new FoE Swag designs. You don't have to be creative to make suggestions. You only need to share some common and/or humorous phrases you hear in our guild. Please reply to this thread with your ideas!
In the interest of bringing more entertainment to your lives we present FoEtoons. A new comic based on FoE, gaming, and general internet culture that we can each relate to. Expect a new one each week as Snit shares his ... unique... point of view with us.

Snit's Twenty Ten Trivia!
As we herald in the new year it is incumbent upon all of us to pay homage to the decade that was. So, FoE Labs, LLC brings you "WTF....oE?".
Saturday, January 9th 2010 at 10 pm EST in the resplendent "Snit World" Vent channel we will be hosting the decade's first Trivia Challenge.
Categories will include "Bantha (self) Abuse", "Questionable Night Elf Traits", "Hey, Where'd My Forum Post Go?", "Who the Fuck is This Nightshade Guy?", "Hands Off of my Tainted Milk, Weirdo", "Egot", "Kinah Katastrophes", "Dead Bird Hanging Around Your Sweet Nike Golf Shirt", and "Unfortunate Praelian Moments of the Aughts".
As always, all answers must be in the form of either an haiku or in binary.
The winner will receive an authentic Guild Network T-shirt - which is suitable for both wearing and washing your car.
I look forward to seeing you all there (except for Saunier, natch).
(Actually most of what you have just read is BS - but we really are doing a trivia contest - please participate.)

Momodawgy's 'The End is Nigh' Nursing Home
As part of her ongoing effort to feel younger, Momo has purchased a nursing home where she intends to create her own fleet of octogenarian farmer's and crafters. It's a very innovative project that takes grandma and grandpa brittle bones out of the quilting sweat shops, and puts them to some good use for the guild. Any items we can't use will be sold for in game currency which will then be sold for real money to pay for all the extra lime jello needed to keep the aged grinding. Please contact Momo at momohatesoldppl@theendisnigh.org

Behind the Screen – Meet Medory by Momodawgy
I first met Medory when Fallen Earth had just launched, he had read an old Guildnetwork.net post on Girls in Gaming and since Fallen Earth is probably one of the most male oriented titles to be released in a long time, he question me extensively on what type of girl would want to play this game, I found this eye to detail intriguing and wondered what fuels such a player to see to the core of such a subject…
Medory is the second in command in the 7th MSC – Fallen Earth, this father of 2 (Gratz on the new baby) member of law enforcement came to us from a long gaming past. He told me that the longevity and structure of FoE is what first drew him in and working along with Gonazz to build the Fallen Earth MSC has been one of the high spots in his gaming career. Medory indicated to me that he is happiest in the background working on his videos and podcast and staying mostly in an advisory role within our structure, sure he can kick-ass with the best of them when needed and stepping up to run an op on occasion isn’t a problem, but real life has him limited and a bit jaded when it comes to trusting people to do the right thing on their own.
Medory feels this somewhat gimps him as a leader…personally I think this is what makes this player unique, this analysis of every encounter and questioning the motives of every person is exactly what drew me to wanting to get to know him better and makes this leader within Fallen Earth a much better player and definitely a viable member of FoE.

Snitfit - SWTOR - Some Thoughts
I've been burned multiple times by the pitch and fervor of upcoming MMO's more times than I'd like to count (Dark and Light ring any bells, anyone?). So, when I first heard that Bioware was working on a Star Wars MMO back in 1993 I wasn't all that excited (actually, it was 2008 - it just seems like it was forever ago).
My attitude towards upcoming games has always been something along the lines of "Whatever - until it actually comes out I am not going to spend any amount of energy worrying/thinking about it." And I've been kind of proud of that somewhat snobby affectation.
In this particular case, however, I'm allowing myself to spend rather a LOT of energy on this not-yet-released title.
I'm not going to bore you with all the details about the game (realistically, you probably already know them). I've spent countless hours watching videos, reading interviews with devs, and poring through the game's web site and I am totally hooked. Like a carp to a barb baited with decomposing bacon hooked.
Is it going to have the same level of PvP import that Star Wars: Galaxies did? Probably not. Is it going to have ridiculously realistic graphics? Not at all. Is it going to provide a crafting mechanism that will afford some of our stranger guildies the opportunity to spend 24 hour periods doing nothing other than experimenting with arcane ingredients in order to make an epic knee pad? Unlikely.
What it WILL do, though, is offer up an eminently playable game with just enough consequential PvP to keep all of us satisfied. That, and it will provide us with an avenue to have ridiculous amounts of cyber with some really hot Twi'leks.
