June AAR

It absolutely amazes me how real-life can get in the way of gaming! Fortunately for me, I currently have no poison of choice and I'm glad the MMO gaming scene as a whole has been fairly low key.  The rather slow operational tempo across the empire has given many of us that much needed break to reassure our spouses that we are more than the basemen trolls they think we are...but this is changing!  Ladies and gents, we are now preparing to ramp up our tempo as new games are on the horizon.

The End is Nigh!

Another month has passed and before I knew it I found myself writing another AAR. Its hard to believe we are already in our third month of 2010--and still no jet-packs. I will seriously be pissed if we don't have jet-packs before 2029. F*ck 2012 tin-foil junkies, 2029 is the real deal! As we move forward into the new year, I'm haunted by my guild project list. For those that don't know, the guild project list is all the really "cool" things I want to develop for FoE but never seem to get to. One of those "really awesome" things is phase 2 of the FoE site. The current site framework has been a beta test, albeit lengthy one, in order to test out Drupal's capability. So far I'm pretty happy with it, however Drupal is more of a Content Management System (CMS) and less of a Model View Controller (MVC) framework. This probably means nothing to you and feel free to skip a head, however if you're a web geek like myself read on.

After Action Report - February 2010

Thanks for all the fish...

First and foremost, I would like to thank Kia and Snit for their efforts on FoE's After Action Review (AAR). I will begin taking over the AAR to recap the guild's activities and highlight future endeavors. This shifts the content from an entertainment piece toward a more "guild business" focused discussion. Snit and Kia will continue to lead Guild Network and provide entertainment pieces that enrich our community. The AAR will now be linked within the forums for member discussion, trolling, flaming, and general ass-hatery!

With January behind us we have already plunged head first into 2010 activities. From the get-go there have been several dynamic changes: the most striking change being the closure of the Fallen Earth MSC. While there was some initial concern about leaving the game, the community at large has embraced the change and moved on to new games. I tip my hat to all the hard work members and leaders put into the MSC, but the deteriorating state of the game coupled with a waning desire to play fostered an environment that would only drag the MSC to a slow death. Personally, I had hoped for Icarus Studio's debut game to be more akin to an early Star Wars Galaxies. However, the general lack of content, whether it be PvP or PvE, failed to keep FoE's player-base entertained. Some of this was the result of our own e-flexing due to many months of pounded the competition's face into the ground. Ultimately, the decision to withdraw FoE forces from the game is mine. This has afforded the guild the opportunity to reinforce the Star Trek Online (STO) MSC which has already produced favorable results!

After Action Report - January 2010

With the new year comes new plans and hopes for the future of our guild. For example, we plan to make our enemies suffer, but we hope they will cry real tears and beg for mercy. We plan to beta test as many new games as possible, so we hope one or two pan out to be what they promise in order to keep things fresh and interesting for everyone. We also plan to offer an even more unique guild experience for our members, and we hope you will all enjoy it!

Every FoE officer continually works on new ways to enhance the guild for us, and this year is no different. We have several tentative ideas for various aspects of the guild as a whole and for the individual. If you happen to have some suggestions for what you would like to see happen with the guild please contact an officer with the details.

FoE Gift Give Away

Happy Holidays,

Its that time of the year again and Fist of the Empire (FoE) is giving away gifts to a few lucky members of the guild. Two games worth up to $60 USD will be sent to two randomly chosen members. We also have a 30-day game card for SoE games which will be given away to a person member-base.
